الملخص

This study examined the seasonal variation of raw and treated drinking water quality at the Al-Shajarah Water Treatment Plant (Khartoum, Sudan) across winter, summer, and autumn of 2021, with particular focus on water quality shifts associated with algal bloom dynamics. Key physico-chemical parameters, turbidity, pH, electrical conductivity (EC), alkalinity, nutrients, and iron were measured using standardized laboratory procedures. Seasonal consumption of powdered activated carbon (PAC) and chlorine was evaluated to assess operational responses to raw water fluctuations and algal-related organic loading.
