Abstract

This research aims to clarify the concept of jurisprudential critique term among scholars of Islamic jurisprudence. As it is a recent and contemporary term, it was not explicitly addressed by early scholars of Islamic jurisprudence in their writings, but they practiced its essence under various other names such as disagreement, debate, and disputation.The function of the science of jurisprudential critique is to subject jurisprudential opinions and statements to meticulous scrutiny and thorough evaluation with the aim of distinguishing the sound from the weak and the more preponderant from the less preponderant.
