Abstract
This study aims to investigate patterns of grammatical ellipsis in Arabic digital news headlines and analyze their pragmatic functions in contemporary media discourse. The study adopts a descriptive-analytical approach through analyzing a sample of 100 news headlines collected from Al Jazeera Net, Al Arabiya Net, Sky News Arabia, and BBC Arabic during January and February 2025. The findings reveal that verb ellipsis is the most frequent type, followed by subject and predicate ellipsis.
