Abstract

     The paper dealt with the concept of Orientalism and its motives،  outlining its pros and cons. The paper explained the impact of contemporary Orientalism on the Prophet’s biography. The paper chose the Orientalist Montgomery Watt،  considering that his studies focused on the Prophet’s biography. He wrote many books،  including (Muhammad in Mecca) and (Muhammad in Medina). The importance of this study comes Of the importance of his positions and opinions claiming impartiality and objectivity،  this study chose some of these positions to respond to him. The study aims to highlight the mistakes of orientalists who relied on those who preceded them in Orientalism instead of relying on original sources،  especially in the study of the Prophet's biography. The study followed the historical inductive approach followed in such historical studies،  and the study concluded that it is necessary to refute the views of orientalists through the use of methods that lack scientific and objectivity to reach wrong results despite their claim to be neutral and scientific in that.
