Abstract
The aim of this study is to explore the text genres of authentic printed materials incorporated into the new headway intermediate students' book, which is widely used in teaching English as a foreign language (EFL) in educational institutions in Sudan. It also aims to figure out to what extent these authentic printed texts represent the target culture in the textbook under study. The study used a descriptive content analysis research design along with Gilmore's (2007) model of authenticity and Gebhard's (1996) criteria for analyzing the authentic printed materials
