Abstract
This study aimed to find out the extent of the contribution of local voluntary organizations in improving health services in the southern countryside in Shendi locality, River Nile State. The questionnaire was used as a tool to collect primary information. The study used methods of descriptive analysis and chi-square test, and the analysis was done using the Statistical Packages for Social Sciences (SPSS) program. The study found a number of results, the most important of which is that the programs and activities provided by local voluntary organizations lead to increase and improvement in the level of health. The results of the study also demonstrated that there are economic, political and administrative obstacles hindering the work of local voluntary organizations in the field of health. The study came out with recommendations, including the need to address the economic, political and administrative obstacles that hinder the work of local voluntary organizations in the field of health, the need to link development to basic health work and community participation in health care service, and the need to pay attention to the establishment of health centers and hospitals in the study community.
