Social Media Use for Providing Extension Massages in Sudan

Abstract

Agricultural extension workers in Sudan use many types of social media applications to provide guidance messages to farmers such as Face book. Tweeter, blogger, telegram, some of these applications are official and others are private , the aim of this study is to evaluate the use of communication means in the delivery of messages and extension services to the targeted farmers and others in the agricultural sector, and the study was applied to the General Directorate of Technology Transfer and Agricultural Extension Federal, and was carried out by applying the social survey approach (Case Study2021) ) which was applied to the entire research community represented by the 54 agricultural extension workers and collected the primary data through the questionnaire and direct observation, and secondary data through reports, references and websites and analyzed the results with the SPSS package, and the most important results are: - Practical experiences of extension workers for more than five years by 84%, they are qualified to use the computer by 100%, received training in writing and preparing guidance messages and phone applications by 80%, 100% of extension staff use social media to provide the extension messages, the main recommendation is more training programs in the field of using social media to provide extension messages , and more study in the different applications of social media in agricultural extension .
