Abstract

This research is an attempt to exhibit the consensuses Of the Jurists narrated by Imam Al-Shafi’i, by presenting the applied issues with the consensuses narrated by Al-Shafi’i in his book Al-Umm, via "The Book of Purity", and studying them in terms of proof and lack of proof, and mentioning the sayings of scholars regarding that, relying in this research on the inductive and descriptive methods.

The most important findings of the study are:

• The book of Al-Umm is considered as a references of consensus of Jurists.
• Al-Shafi’i’s breadth of knowledge, his familiarity with the sayings of scholars of his time and those before him, and his transmission of consensuses.
